Piergiovanni Salimbeni

Hi from italy, and at first, excuse me for my poor english. If you notice any errors, I would kindly ask you to report them so that they can be corrected. Thank you for your understanding!

WHO AM I?

My name is Piergiovanni Salimbeni, I live in a small valley in Northern Italy with my wife, two daughters, two dogs, and a few cats. In my free time, I enjoy practicing enduro with my mountain bike, martial arts, and long-range shooting.

I am an independent journalist registered with the Professional Order of Journalists of Lombardy (North part of Italy). I was born on February 17, 1975, and in 1997 I began my first editorial collaborations with some national monthly magazines.

I graduated from the State University of Milan with a thesis on the damages caused by electromagnetic pollution and the antennas of Vatican Radio. For almost twenty years, I have been involved in instrumental testing.

I started with astronomical telescopes and then specialized in naturalistic optics. In 2012, I began reviewing products for night vision. I specialized in the use of optoelectronic night vision devices and then moved on to analyzing the first digital night vision devices and thermal imaging products.

After curating the special issue “Night Vision” for the  italian magazine “CacciaMagazine” and creating the Facebook group “Thermal Vision, Night Vision, and Camera Trapping,” I decided to work on this new editorial project to separate this type of reviews from my website www.binomania.it, which is more dedicated to naturalistic and astronomical optics.

This new web site is the english translation of the official : www.termicienotturni.it

I also have a YouTube channel, and I would be very happy if you came to visit and subscribed. I often upload videos with English subtitles, but you can always use the automatic Google Translate feature for subtitles translation.

I work and support my family  only through this activity, and I strive to be as impartial as possible. My wife assists me and takes care of the video recording for my reviews and images for social media. If you would like to support my family, you can help me continue this independent work through PayPal. Thank you!
